The first thing Preston Witt learned when she started dieting was that dieting is hard. “When I decided to lose weight, the hardest part was giving up things I loved to eat.” She added, “I’d get so hungry in the evening that I’d cave and eat a whole pint of ice cream. That was my favorite thing to eat at night.” Even now, she sometimes finds herself eating too much at a meal, but then getting back on track with her good habits.
Preston said that exercise helped her lose weight and keep it off. She liked exercise classes because they were like having friends go with her. Successful weight loss is obtained by eating a healthy, balanced diet and exercising regularly. The following tactics should be employed in tandem with a balanced diet, and should not replace it.
Best weight loss plan
A healthy weight loss plan should be paired with regular exercise and a well-balanced diet for best results.
Shopping for healthy foods is the first step to success. Packaged foods are usually high in sugar, salt, and preservatives. Instead of buying pre-made meals or fast food, you should buy fruit, vegetables, lean meats like chicken, nuts and whole grains. You will also want to avoid processed foods such as white breads and pastas and refined sugars. By eating a variety of these foods you will receive a well-balanced diet that includes proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins.
When you exercise it is important to stick with cardio workouts at least three times a week for at least 30 minutes per session. Aerobic exercises such as walking or jogging are best because they burn fat by helping your body to use oxygen more efficiently. You should avoid doing strength training if possible because this can increase your muscle mass instead of decreasing it which may cause an increase in body weight despite decreased fat mass.
