The first thing you have to know about losing weight is that it is all about calories in versus calories out. If you consume more calories than your body can burn, then you will gain weight. If your body burns more calories than you take in, you will lose weight. While there are many fad diets that promise to help you shed the pounds quickly, they never seem to pan out because people who try them typically end up cheating on their diet and end up eating more calories than they would have if they stuck with a healthy diet and regular exercise.


Regular Exercise for Balanced Diet


A balanced diet and regular exercise are the best way to lose weight and keep it off. You should plan on exercising for an hour each day, at least five days per week. If you are not used to exercising this much, start out slow by walking for half an hour each day, and gradually build up from there. As long as you do not exceed your daily calorie count, you should be able to lose weight relatively quickly.



To calculate how many calories your body needs each day, multiply your current weight by 13 if you are moderately active or 15 if you are very active, and then add 250. That number will give you the most accurate estimate of how much food to eat each day.


There are many different ways to weight lose, whether by following a specific diet or exercise program or whatever else you might try. For me, the best way I've found to lose weight is by keeping my food intake healthy and balancing. This allows me to have a healthier body without feeling like I'm being forced to eat bland and boring foods all the time.
